Heavy body with an intense, smoky flavor Dark roast lovers, rejoice! Very full-bodied with an intense, smoky flavor, our Italian Roast coffee makes wonderful drip or French-style coffee and great American-style espresso. This is a very dark roast, although not as dark as our French Roast, which is extremely dark. Our Italian Roast features Costa Rican Tarrazu beans — grown high in the Costa Rican mountains in the rich, volcanic soil that imparts to this coffee its distinctive characteristics. Open the bag, and you’ll find ebony-colored oily beans with sharp flavors of dark roasted nuts, a tangy acidity and medium body.
